Gouverneur Chamber's BOCES Student of the Month
Each month, the Gouverneur Chamber recognizes a student who is studying an aspect of business at St. Lawrence/Lewis BOCES, (Board Of Cooperative Educational Services) located in nearby Fowler, NY. The school serves eighteen school districts in St. Lawrence and Lewis Counties, NY.
The BOCES system provides cost-effective shared services, including career training for high-school students and adults, special education, alternative schools, technology education and teacher training, as well as dozens of programs to expand educational opportunity.


The Student of the Month award is sponsored by the Gouverneur Chamber of Commerce. The award is presented to those students whose efforts are of the highest caliber.

Mackenzi Schumaker
New Visions: Medical
Mackenzi Schumaker, daughter of Pamela and Michael Bouchey and Scott Schumaker has been selected as the Career and Technical Education Student of the Month at Southwest Tech (BOCES) for December 2021.
Mackenzi is a senior at Hermon-Dekalb Central School and is enrolled in the New Visions: Medical Program at Southwest Tech.
Mackenzi is an outstanding student. She shows a great interest in the Radiology field. Mackenzi comes to school every day with a smile on her face. She is a great joy to be around.

Travis Bush
CREATE
Travis Bush, son of Tabatha and Eric Bush has been selected as the Career and Technical Education Student of the Month at Southwest Tech (BOCES) for November 2021.
Travis is a Sophomore at Clifton-Fine Central School and is enrolled in the CREATE Program at Southwest Tech.
Travis is an absolute pleasure to have in class. He is well mannered, dependable and courteous. Travis is always helpful, offering assistance to others. I believe Travis has a lot of potential.

Cooper MacKay
Criminal Justice
Cooper MacKay, son of Paul and Charmaine MacKay has been selected as the Career and Technical Education Student of the Month at Southwest Tech (BOCES) for October 2021.
Cooper is a Senior at Edwards-Knox Central School and is enrolled in the Criminal Justice II Program at Southwest Tech.
Cooper is an excellent, hardworking, and dependable student. His positive, confident, and helpful attitude is a great addition to the classroom. Cooper is always prepared, willing to learn and uses his time efficiently. He shows enthusiasm and interest in the Criminal Justice field. He will be a great asset in any career path he chooses.
