Gouverneur Chamber's Student of the Month
Each month, the Gouverneur Chamber recognizes a student who is studying an aspect of business at St. Lawrence/Lewis BOCES, (Board Of Cooperative Educational Services) located in nearby Fowler, NY. The school serves eighteen school districts in St. Lawrence and Lewis Counties, NY.


The BOCES system provides cost-effective shared services, including career training for high-school students and adults, special education, alternative schools, technology education and teacher training, as well as dozens of programs to expand educational opportunity.

The Student of the Month award is sponsored by the Gouverneur Chamber of Commerce.
The award is presented to those students whose efforts are of the highest caliber.

Building Trades Program
Logan Ossont, son of Daniel & Monica Ossont has been selected as the Career and Technical Education Student of the Month at Southwest Tech (BOCES) for November 2023.
Logan is a senior at Harrisville Central School and is enrolled in the Building Trades I Program at Southwest Tech.
Logan is an outstanding student, who is always prepared for both the classroom and shop. He demonstrates the skills that employers are looking for. Logan is attentive during instruction and carries out his work assignments with quality. He is eager to help others and understands the importance of being a team player.

Cassidy Ingram
Cosmetology Technology
Cassidy Ingram, daughter of Betty Ingram and Marvin and Melinda Parmeter has been selected as the Career and Technical Education Student of the Month at Southwest Tech (BOCES) for May 2023.
Cassidy is a senior at Gouverneur Central School and is enrolled in the Cosmetology II Program at Southwest Tech.
Cassidy has shown incredible growth since the beginning of the year! She has developed confidence and is eager to learn and try new things. Cassidy consistently volunteers with cutting, styling, and coloring any client/student/faculty member who walks into our salon. She approaches each task with a friendly and positive attitude. We have enjoyed watching Cassidy grow into a confident young stylist and look forward to seeing her succeed in the cosmetology industry.

LeAnna Doyle, daughter of Jennica Baxter and Jeffrey Doyle, Jr., has been selected as the Career and Technical Education Student of the Month at Southwest Tech (BOCES) for October 2023.
LeAnna is a Harrisville Central School senior enrolled in the Culinary Arts I Program at Southwest Tech.
LeAnna strives to do her best daily and takes great pride in her work. She continually works to improve her hands-on skills inside and outside the classroom. LeAnna is very goal-oriented and a true pleasure to have in my program.

Maryann Durham, daughter of Danielle LaRue has been selected as the Career and Technical Education Student of the Month at Southwest Tech (BOCES) for May 2023.
Maryann is a senior at Edwards-Knox Central School and is enrolled in the Criminal Justice II Program at Southwest Tech.
Maryann has an excellent work attitude, great attendance and is always prepared for class. She is a role model, always willing to help others and is dependable. Maryann is an asset to the program, she is always respectful and never complains. She is eager to learn and will excel in any area she chooses for a career path.

CREATE
Connor Moore, son of Jason Moore and Savannah Brooks, has been selected as the Career and Technical Education Student of the Month at Southwest Tech (BOCES) for June 2023.
Connor is a sophomore at Edwards-Knox Central School and enrolled in the Southwest Tech CREATE Program.
Connor has excellent attendance and strives to do his best in whatever the class expectations are. He is always focused on doing and submitting quality work on projects and often times adds his own creative touches. Connor exemplifies leadership qualities and is always willing to help out others. He wants to enter either Metalworking or Auto Tech next year and will be a great asset to whichever program he chooses.

Alexis Nichols, daughter of Ryan and Summer Nichols has been selected as the Career and Technical Education Student of the Month at Southwest Tech (BOCES) for April 2023.
Alexis is a senior at Gouverneur Central School and is enrolled in the Pharmacy Technician Program at Southwest Tech.
Lexi is always pleasant, has a smile and is willing to help others. She has great work ethic and uses her time wisely to submit quality work. Lexi completed the C.N.A course her junior year and is doing great in Pharmacy Technician this year.
