Gouverneur Chamber's BOCES Student of the Month
Each month, the Gouverneur Chamber recognizes a student who is studying an aspect of business at St. Lawrence/Lewis BOCES, (Board Of Cooperative Educational Services) located in nearby Fowler, NY. The school serves eighteen school districts in St. Lawrence and Lewis Counties, NY.
The BOCES system provides cost-effective shared services, including career training for high-school students and adults, special education, alternative schools, technology education and teacher training, as well as dozens of programs to expand educational opportunity.


The Student of the Month award is sponsored by the Gouverneur Chamber of Commerce. The award is presented to those students whose efforts are of the highest caliber.

Nicholas Gladle
Heavy Equipment Operation
Nicholas Gladle, son of David and Lorie Gladle, has been selected as the Career and Technical Education Student of the Month at Southwest Tech (BOCES) for April 2022.
Nicholas is a senior at Edwards-Knox Central School and is enrolled in the Heavy Equipment Operation Program at Southwest Tech.
Nick is always ready to participate in any of the activities of the day whether it is academic/classroom time or outside/shop activities. He is always pleasant, good natured, and friendly. Nick gets along with everyone. He is always willing to try new concepts and is eager to learn.

Education & Human Services
Kiarra Jenkins, daughter of Brandi and Don Jenkins Jr., has been selected as the Career and Technical Education Student of the Month at Southwest Tech (BOCES) for March 2022.
Kiarra is a senior at Gouverneur Central School and is enrolled in the Education & Human Services II Program at Southwest Tech.
Kiarra has been a wonderful addition to the EHS program at Southwest Tech. She is motivated, organized, helpful to others and has great time management skills. She is responsible and strives to do her best in all tasks. Kiarra will be a great asset to the education field, as she continues her studies next year at SUNY Plattsburgh.

Anthony Cicciarelli II, son of Lisa Cicciarelli has been selected as the Career and Technical Education Student of the Month at Southwest Tech (BOCES) for April 2022.
Anthony is a senior at Edwards-Knox Central School and is enrolled in the Graphic Communications Program at Southwest Tech.
Anthony is a hard-working student who has excelled in every area of the Graphic Communications Program. He gets along well with others and is always ready to help his classmates. Anthony is dependable and completes all of his assignments. He is confident and self-directed.

Conor McIntosh, son of Jeremy and January McIntosh has been selected as the Career and Technical Education Student of the Month at Southwest Tech (BOCES) for February 2022.
Conor is a senior at Harrisville Central School and is enrolled in the Building Trades Program at Southwest Tech.
Conor is always prepared and ready to work. He is eager to learn new things. Conor is a team player and gets along with everyone. He is always on task and completes all assignment with a high degree of accuracy.

Certified Nurse Assistant
Brianna Hanley, daughter of Jason and Kelley Hanley has been selected as the Career and Technical Education Student of the Month at Southwest Tech (BOCES) for March 2022.
Brianna is a junior at Clifton-Fine Central School and is enrolled in the Certified Nurse Assistant Program at Southwest Tech.
Brianna has an outstanding grade point average. She comes to class prepared everyday and is very eager to learn. Brianna treats everyone with respect. She is the first to help out in the lab. I believe Brianna has a bright future in the healthcare field. It has been a pleasure to have Brianna in my class.

Cosmetology
Breanna Shampine, daughter of Melissa LaParr and John Shampine has been selected as the Career and Technical Education Student of the Month at Southwest Tech (BOCES) for January 2022.
Breanna is a senior at Harrisville Central School and is enrolled in the Cosmetology II Program at Southwest Tech.
Breanna is an exceptional student, who is always prepared for class. She has excellent attendance and is eager to learn. Breanna gets along well with others and is always willing to help. I really cannot say enough about Breanna.
