We're in this together... Social distancing is our only weapon right now.

Healthy or sick, all New Yorkers must stay home, unless they are essential workers or need urgent health care. Social distancing is a must! The CDC defines social distancing as it applies to COVID-19 as "remaining out of group settings, avoiding mass gatherings, and maintaining distance (approximately 6 feet or 2 meters) from others when possible."

Stop the Spread of COVID-19

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

  • Stay home when you are sick.

  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

  • Clean and disinfect frequently.

  • Have all meetings via phone or web platform.

Gouverneur, the One and Only

Gouverneur is the only town of this name in the entire United States. Our community offers a business friendly environment, excellent hospital, and a small town atmosphere. Gouverneur is home to large companies like Cives and Kinney Drugs and also many other wonderful large and small businesses. The Gouverneur and St. Lawrence County Fairgrounds draw hundreds from all over the North Country to the county fair, Pumpkin Festival and many other events.

Our picturesque village park hosts events like the Farmer's Market, Arts in the Park, the Gouverneur Breast Cancer Walk, Community Sidewalk Sales, Gouverneur Garden Club Plant Sale, and the Annual Christmas parade.
