The Greater Gouverneur Area Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization whose members work to promote economic vitality and prosperity in the Gouverneur area. Gouverneur is the only town of this name in the entire United States. Our community offers a business friendly environment, excellent hospital, and a small town atmosphere.
Gouverneur is home to large companies like Cives and Kinney Drugs and also many other wonderful large and small businesses. The Gouverneur and St. Lawrence County Fairgrounds draw hundreds from all over the North Country to the county fair, Pumpkin Festival and many other events.
But even as nearly half the state moves into this next phase, the governor cautioned that the virus is far from gone, and the only reason we’ve gotten this far is because people have been careful.

Our picturesque village park hosts events like the Farmer's Market, Arts in the Park, the Gouverneur Breast Cancer Walk, Community Sidewalk Sales, Gouverneur Garden Club Plant Sale, and the Annual Christmas parade.
The park is bordered by churches, the Gouverneur Library, the Gouverneur Museum and main street shops. And, of course, the giant "Life Savers" in the Village Park is always a conversation starter.

Have You Completed the Census Yet?
In March, homes across the country received invitations to complete the 2020 Census. It has never been easier to respond on your own, online, over the phone or by mail—all without having to meet a census taker. Real live census takers are currently collecting data in our community.
The 2020 Census will determine congressional representation, inform hundreds of billions in federal funding every year, and provide data that will impact communities for the next decade... School lunches. Plans for highways. Support for firefighters and families in need. Census results affect your community every day.
The Chamber would like to encourage everyone to complete the US Census online. Go to our website for a link or click here: https://my2020census.gov/
